IS THIS HOW THE FACELIFTED 2014 HONDA JAZZ HATCHBACK WILL LOOK LIKE?
Here’s a speculative of the 2014 Honda Jazz hatchback that has just surfaced on the interweb. From what we’re seeing, the new Honda Jazz gets a new front end, replete with new headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a new bumper and even a new grille. The flanks of the car also get some additional muscle in the rendering, to make for a more muscular looking car. The current Jazz is aimed primarily at family car buyers and in line with that positioning, the car comes with safe yet contemporary styling. The next generation 2014 Jazz though could be a little different going by what the rumor mill has had to say.

However, profitability has seemingly taken a big hit at Honda SIEL India due to the automaker having to resort to heavy price cuts in order to improve sales of the City sedan and the Jazz hatchback. With sales of petrol powered cars bottoming out in the Indian car market, the need for diesel engined cars for almost every car maker worth its salt, has become especially acute. Honda, with its petrol only approach, finds itself in the pits, and sooner than later, the car maker will have to resort to diesel power in order to resurrect itself in India.
While the 2012 Civic sedan could be the first Honda product in India to get the 1.6 Liter i-DTEC turbo diesel engine, the likes of the Brio and the Jazz could also get diesel power in the coming years. Talking of which, the 2014 Jazz is one product that Honda will be looking to outfit with a turbo diesel engine. A smaller, 1.2 Liter i-DTEC diesel engine is what the 2014 Jazz could feature. Honda’s team of engineers in Japan are burning the midnight oil to come up with a range of diesel engines and in the next few years, these efforts will be critical to the brand’s overall survival in a market like India.
